Proverbs 13:20: “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but a companion of fools suffer harm.”
A friend of mine always uses the quote: “Good people bring the good in people.” That’s something to think about, do you surround yourself with ‘good’ people? Do they bring out the ‘good’ in you?
These questions can get you through 2016, nobody said you had to hold on and poison yourself with negativity. If you have friends or people surrounding you that only bring out the bad in you, what kind of development are you creating?
If you walk with sinners, you tend to sin easily. If you walk with liars, you become a liar. If you walk with troublemakers, you become a troublemaker.
Proverbs 1:11-16: “If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood; let us ambush the innocent without reason; like Sheol let us swallow them alive, and whole, like those who go down to the pit; we shall find all precious goods, we shall fill our houses with plunder; throw in your lot among us; we will all have one purse”— my son, do not walk in the way with them; hold back your foot from their paths, for their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.”
If you surround yourself with people who are spontaneous, you become one also. But if you decide to walk with those who turn to darkness it will damp your light.
When it comes to socializing we are just like children, trying to learn how to make the right motions and say the right words. We copy and past whatever we see or hear into our own personalities and doing.
Proverbs 12:26: “One who is righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.”
Change your ways today and be the light for others, that they may wonder what good you’ve been up to and therefore wonder about Gods wonderful work.
