Meet for King & Country, a Christian pop band by the Australia-American brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone in 2007. In 2012 their debut record Crave, received much love and they were named as “New Artists To Watch” by Billboard for 2012.
Their debut album Crave was released on 28 February 2012. The album became number 2 on the iTunes “Top Christian & Gospel albums” and number 42 on the overall chart. Later it became number 4 on Billboard ’s “Christian Albums chart”, and has remained on the chart for 26 weeks and also charted on Billboard 200. Their first single “Busted Heart” was a the single of 2011 in their genre and was in the Top 10 for weeks.
In high school Joel and Luke did background vocals. After Luke graduated from high school, the brothers decided to think about forming a band that was created in 2007. At first they began their career with the band name “Joel & Luke”, but they later changed it to “Austoville”. In 2008 Joel and Luke released an EP ‘A Tale of Two Towns’ with six songs on it. In 2009 Joel and Luke signed on with Warner music Group with Ben Glover as their producer. Then they changed their name to “For King & Country” Luke said that they wanted a band name with more meaning and this was their definitive choice.
personally my favorite song is Shoulders, it’s a newer song and it touched my heart. I just love it and the video clip fits the song perfectly, I even got goosebumps because of their voices!
