She had the kind of love for odd things that nobody understood, she loved plants and trees. Rain and stars in the deep dark night. Ashley was bullied for what she loved and the weirdest thing of all what people thought was odd, was that she loved God more than the oddest things in this world. They called her names, said she was ugly, weird and they even hit her.
Ashley has been sad for years but she didn’t saw it as a depression, she had her ups and downs but if they brought her down? No way, she wouldn´t let that happen, she got it, heard it and got over it. God was her only friend after realizing that being sad wasn´t worth anything, God was there through her darkest times, God was there lying with her on the grass while looking to the stars, God knew what would’ve become of Ashley if she turned to God. Ashley could read the bible every day but she preferred the night so she could fall asleep while thinking about what she had read before bed, God made her feel special because he was always there. She also had her secret places were she loved to read, among plants and beautiful trees. Ashley stayed there most of the time trying to read her bible to keep God close to her heart and while going through the pages she learned to love her enemies.
Matthew 5:43-54: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
Ashley forgave her bullies after realizing being sad is worth nothing and to fulfill God’s will. When she was little her mother always taught her to be strong, her mother told her to stand up for herself by not paying attention to the bullies. As Ashley grew up it became easier to do so as her mother taught her and became proud of her self-growth as a person. Years went by and Ashley was almost graduating from high school, “Hey uhm.. Weren’t you the girl from middle school? We uhm.. I” said Max. “You don’t have to say anything I already forgave you, years ago and that God may forgive you too,” Ashley said with a smile. “I’m really sorry and I hope you didn’t suffer because of what I and the others did to you,” said Max. “It’s okay really”.
1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Ashley graduated and she survived the past years, nobody ever bullied her again because it didn’t do her anything. Max even asked her out to make it up to her, they became friends and even later they began dating. Max was sorry that he even changed his ways, he trusted God as well and asked him for forgiveness. Then you learn that the person you bullied/bully have a heart too, imagine you being bullied how would you feel? Max learned that there was more to life, think about what you’ve done are you ready to leave it all behind and turn to God?
2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
It’s kind of a funny story because Ashley stayed strong, she trusted God and God alone. God and Ashley are close friends and as a special gift for her patient and faith, God gave her a partner to become one and be closer to God. Seams cliché but things like this could actually happen someday. when you think back it’s kind of a funny story.
